BALDWIIN–The new Baldwin USD 348 Performing Arts Center is about ready for its grand opening…and it’s ahead of schedule and under budget. Baldwin School Superintendent Paul Dorathy says he hopes to take control of the building before May 15, which is Baldwin High School Graduation. The cost of the center is put at about 4.7 million dollars. Part of it is covered by a grant from the Federal Emergency Management Agency because the Center can also be used as a tornado shelter. FEMA has reimbursed the district over $2,000,000. So far, the Center is $650,000 under budget.
