BURLINGTON — A body found Saturday afternoon at the John Redmond Reservoir is that of an 11-year-old boy who was missing since a boating accident Dec. 4. An autopsy, which included a check of dental records, confirmed the body is that of Jeremy Jenkins, said Coffey County Sheriff Randy Rogers. “We were able to finally bring closure for the family of Jeremy Jenkins in hopes that it may provide some level of comfort,” Rogers said. The boy’s father, Jason Jenkins, 40, and uncle, Clinton Yeager, 22, drowned when their boat capsized during a waterfowl hunting trip to the lake. Their bodies were recovered the same day but the boy’s was never found. Searchers could never find the boy’s body until people riding ATVs at the lake found it and called the Coffey County Sheriff’s office.
