OTTAWA–It was a cold and windy day, but the graduation ceremonies at Ottawa High School was as warm and cheery as it gets. One senior speaker, Anna Stone, urged her classmates to realize that everything will work out in the end. She said it’s
not always easy to believe this is true, but her high school experiences have shown her this is the case, and she urged her class to adopt a similar positive outlook on life. The other senior speaker was Logan Swafford, who said in researching his speech on the internet, he found a lot of themes repeated over and over…including that students will look back on high school as some of the best years of their lives. Logan said tongue in cheek that this theme sure doesn’t set up graduates for much happiness later in life. He ended his speech by noting that this is the last time all the classmates will be together, but he was thankful he lived in a world of the internet and facebook so his class can share their experiences and accomplishments as they move through life. A total of 139 seniors made up this year’s graduation class
