OTTAWA — The Ottawa Middle School could receive a $348,000 state grant that will allow the school to restart its after-school program next year. Supt. Dean Katt said he’s talked to a member of the committee that handles such grant application and that person told him the committee recommended the grant. Katt said Ottawa’s grant application could be approved next month by the state board of education. The middle school after-school program was cut for this year because of state school aid funding cuts. The new program will be better than the previous program, he said.
