OTTAWA — The Ottawa City Commission gave the green light Monday to some street paving projects for the summer. City manager Richard Nienstedt urged commissioners to proceed at the study session rather than wait until next week’s regular meeting. Bids for much of the proposed work came in lower than expected, and Nienstedt said he’d like to sign contracts and get the project going as soon as possible. About half of the projects will be for streets north of the river.
