TOPEKA — A forest fire that’s burned nearly 500 square miles continues to threaten thousands of homes in the eastern Arizona mountains and is the second largest fire in that state’s history. The smoke from that fire is now floating above us in Kansas skies and smoke gets in your eyes. Because of the soot and smoke particles in the air, Kansans can expect some spectacular sunsets in the meantime, he said.
