OTTAWA — Ottawa city commissioners received an update from Professional Engineering Consultants about a study of the city’s sewer network on the east side of the city. City manager Richard Nienstedt said many of the sewer lines are aging and will probably need to be replaced. When the city sought a state wastewater permit when it extended utility lines across I-35 to the site of the proposed Love’s Travel Center on U.S. 59, the state offered pointed suggestions that the city make upgrades to the network, he said.
