GARNETT – The Anderson County Historical Society will host an evening of local folklore as told through recorded narrations by Ed Fink at 6:30 p.m. Friday, Aug. 26, at 6:30 at the Coffee Loft in Garnett. His recordings spin tales of early local settlement, the battle for statehood, and the lives of the first pioneers. Local musician Chuck Cowan will play songs from the early days of Garnett on one of Fink’s handmade 12-string guitars. The event is part of the Garnett 150th anniversary activities.
