OVERLAND PARK — A Louisburg woman was one of four drivers injured in a chain-reaction pileup on I-435 in Overland Park last week. The Kansas Highway Patrol said all five vehicles involved in the pileup were going east on I-435 near Quivira Boulevard when traffic slowed down into a tieup. Troopers said an SUV driven by Rachelle Byrd, Independence, Mo., plowed into the back of a truck driven by Diana Sprofera, Louisburg. Sprofera’s truck then hit an SUV driven by Tessie Pesce, Shawnee, which hit a car driven by Emily Frank of Kansas City, Kan., city which then hit an SUV.
Troopers said after it was hit, the SUV fled the accident scene. Byrd was taken by ambulance to Overland Park Regional Hospital. The other three drivers complained of possible injuries but according to highway patrol records, none were taken by ambulance to hospitals.
