TOPEKA — Members of a Kansas National Guard helicopter unit are heading to Iraq. Members of the 108th Aviation Regiment headed to Fort Hood, Texas, for additional training. The unit will be in Iraq for about one year and will ferry troops, supplies and equipment on Black Hawk helicopters. The unit is headquartered in Topeka with companies in Topeka and Salina, Austin, Texas; and Hawaii.
