OTTAWA — Despite the lagging economy, sales tax receipts for the city of Ottawa boomed in September. Indeed, city finance director Scott Bird says this year’s sales tax revenues are the second best September for the city. Bird said he’s been surprised by the pace of sales tax receipts this year.
