BASEHOR — Basehor-Linwood High School has accepted an invitation to join the Frontier League, the Basehor Sentinel reported. Because of the state’s two-year football district cycle, it wouldn’t be until the 2014-2015 school year when the Bobcats join the league. The Bobcats are leaving the Kaw Valley League, which is seeing some movement because some of the fastest-growing members are looking at more urban Kansas City area leagues. The Frontier League currently has seven schools: Ottawa, Paola, Baldwin, DeSoto, Eudora, Spring Hill and Louisburg. The Sentinel also reported that there also is a possibility that with Basehor-Linwood’s move, the Bobcats’ long-time rivals, Bonner Springs and Tonganoxie, may also seek to leave the Kaw Valley League and join the Frontier League.
