GARNETT — Garnett city and business officials have been working with Kansas University marketing professor Greg Thomas to come up with a trademark and advertising slogan to help attract visitors and new businesses and residents. At Tuesday night’s city commission meeting, city manager Joyce Martin said that Garnett residents will get to vote on their favorite of six suggested trademarks and six slogans this week. Residents can go on-line on the Web site Survey Monkey to cast their ballots, she said.
But she said she’s also making arrangements for people to vote the old-fashioned way as well, with paper ballots at high-traffic locations such as the library, senior center and the Park Plaza housing units. Garnett Youth in Government member Chad Betts, who is now sitting as a non-voting member of the commission, will also conduct a poll at Anderson County High School.
