OTTAWA — A parent has lodged a complaint against a popular teacher who has been accused of roughing up a Eugene Field student. Other parents told KOFO about the complaint, saying they disagreed with the parent’s characterization of the incident, and saying the student was throwing things at other students when the teacher intervened. Ottawa school Supt. Dean Katt confirmed a complaint has been issued against a Eugene Field teacher. Katt declined to identify the teacher or give details, other than the student wasn’t roughed up. If the complaint is discussed at Monday night’s school board meeting, it would be discussed in executive session as a personnel matter.
