OTTAWA – The county’s tax sale is Thursday morning. Nine properties were scheduled to be sold but county administrator Lisa Johnson said at least two property owners have contacted her about paying up the taxes and taking the properties off the sale list. The original list had about 40 deliquent-tax properties but those were paid up – a fairly normal outcome, she said. County commissioners decided today they will bid a dollar on a vacant lot in Richmond if no one wants to bid on it. They intend to give it to a neighboring property owner to get it back on the tax rolls.
