OTTAWA — Some metal thieves may have gotten exhausted. And some catalytic converters could be converted into cash. The Franklin County Sheriff’s office said someone crawled under an Elizabeth Layton Center bus, cut off the catalytic converter and stole it some time before Tuesday morning. The sheriff’s office said the loss won’t be determined until an auto dealer figures out the cost of replacing it. Ottawa police said someone crawled under trucks belonging to the Natural Resources Conservation Services and cut off and stole the catalytic converters while the trucks were parked in the 300 block of West 23rd Street before Tuesday morning.
