FRANKLIN COUNTY — After a late start of a month, the Franklin County corn harvest has started. Frontier Extension District Agricultural and Natural Resources Agent Darren Hibdon says the corn harvest is about one-third done. As he expected, the yields have been highly variable. For the most part the average yields will be below average because corn experienced unfavorable weather at key times of the kernels’ development, he said. He says the soybean harvest has just started and first indications are that the bean crop will be better than corn.
