There has been a lot of publicity recently about efforts to get certain books banned from the library, that some find objectionable. Those efforts have reached the Ottawa Library. During the Regular Ottawa Library Board of Trustees Meeting, one patron stood up to cite a possible problem book. David Harvey says he recently read something that troubled him:
Several people also stood up to support the library offering books on themes, such as the LGBTQ lifestyles.
Currently the library takes under consideration each objectionable book on a case by case basis. After reviewing the work, library staff will make a decision on whether to keep it on the library shelves.
