The Ottawa Library Board of Trustees heard from both sides while discussing a dispute involving some patrons who want certain books removed because of what they see as having objectionable material. One person who want the library to leave controversial books on the shelf spoke up at the meeting. He was introduced simply as “Tim”:
Others opposing some of the books cited an author’s claim that toddlers can choose their correct gender as evidence that the materials should not be accessible to young people.
