The Neighborhood Revitalization Program is growing in popularity in Ottawa. Nine new applications were added just last week. Three new builds, and 6 substantial remodels. Six of the 8 are on the south side, with two on the north side. Properties received in applications are not automatically accepted, they are subject to inspection and review. Commissioner Sarah Caylor commented on the procedure.
The new builds will receive a maximum tax rebate of 95% over a 10 year period, while the remodels will receive 95% over a five year period. Commercial remodels receive a 100% tax rebate for five years and then a decrease of 10% over the next five years.
