Some widely believed stories about firefighting are right on the mark in real life………and then some popular firefighting techniques may not be so effective. That seems to be the summary of a large study done by Underwriters Laboratories. Around 150 area firefighters gathered at Ottawa Memorial Auditorium to listen to a lecture on fire dynamics. One of the presenters was Dennis Legear , a former firefighter with the Oakland, California Fire Department. Legear says some findings from the study seem obvious.
Legear says the study helped show which fire fighting techniques are effective…….and ones which are not effective.
