It seems likely there will be a different phase-in of increased water rates for Ottawa customers……. different from the original proposed 10% per year for 5 years. At the City Commission Study Session, Commissioner Sara Caylor said she likes what is called option c, which involves increasing the base charge to $10 and a 5% per year increase for 5 years.
Only one other commissioner appeared to express strong support for the original 10% per year for 5 years. Further discussion is planned.
