It appears all but certain that the original proposal to up the water rates by 10% per year for five years is probably not going to fly. During a discussion of water rates by the Ottawa City Commission at their Study Session, Ottawa Mayor, Eric Crowley made clear where he stood.
The option Crowley supports would increase the water base rate to $10.00, with a 5% increase per year for five years.
