The 36th Annual Toys for Kids Motorcycle Ride will be held this afternoon in Ottawa. The annual ride provides toys for ECKAN’s Christmas Event. The public is invited. It all starts with a chili feed at 11:00 this morning at the Eagles Club on East 15th Street. Toys will be loaded onto trailers, then, at 2:00, it’s kickstand up, and engines revving as all the bikes, muscle cars, and other vehicles will escort the toys down Main Street to Forest Park, meeting up with ECKAN officials. Last year, a record number of riders participated and they had not one, but two trailers heaping with toys and gifts, the largest run ever.
Afterwards, the group will head back to the Eagles for an auction, with items ranging from new, used and home made with proceeds all staying local, benefiting ECKAN. You can donate to the cause. Bring a new toy to the Eagles tomorrow or Forest Park, monetary donations will also be accepted.
