Most of us are familiar with the Blessing Boxes around town. They started popping up a few years ago as a way to help those who may need a little extra to get by. Have you ever wondered who exactly the Blessing Boxes are intended for? Ottawa Blessing Box Foundation Director, Julie Riggins has the answer.
The Blessing Box Foundation officially has seven boxes around town, however, there a few more scattered around town.
Riggins says right now is a vulnerable time. As the weather gets colder, hats, gloves scarves and blankets can also be donated to the boxes. If you have a winter coat you would like to donate, you can take it to the Ottawa Library, or the Community Dinner at the auditorium Thursday from 11:00 to 1:00.
