It looks like the Ottawa City Commission has settled on a water rate hike that implements price increases a little more gently than the first proposal. Ottawa Finance Director, Melanie Landis told the Commission about a compromise proposal.
Over a five year period, the plan would also call for a 10% increase the first year, 8% the second year, 6% the third year, and 4% increase the fourth and fifth year. The original plan called for a 10% increase per year for five years.
