Today’s the day! The Annual Festival of Lights will take place in Baldwin City today with a full day of activities planned. There will be a Holiday Market from 9:00 to noon at the Lumberyard Arts Center, along with a Holiday Bazaar and open house from 9:00 to 1:00 at Vintage Park with many local vendors. Adult crafts from noon to 2:00 at the library. The Baldwin Academy of Dance and Voice at 4:00, a soup supper at the United Methodist Church from 4:30 to 6:00, treats in Sullivan Square with Victorian Carolers from 5:00 to 6:00. There will be a huge ginger house display from 5:00 to 7:00, a community choir singing Handel’s Hallelujah Chorus at 6:00, prior to the parade in front of the Mayor’s Christmas Tree. Then, the Festival of Lights begins with a big parade with floats draped in thousands of christmas lights, and as the last float goes by, Santa Claus will light the tree outside City Hall and be available to hear the children’s wish lists afterwards.
