This morning, at a Chamber Coffee at the Ottawa Library, the 2023 O-Town Read book was revealed, and I for one, an very intrigued. The book this year is “Finding Dorothy” written by Elizabeth Lett. Library Director, Terry Chartier tells us a little about it:

The Wizard of Oz was written by L. Frank Baum in 1900. By the time he died in 1919, he had written 13 other books set in Oz. The movie was released in 1939, starring Judy Garland as Dorothy Gale. Here is a little tease for you. Dorothy’s character got her name from a real life person inspired by Baum’s wife, Maud. You can pick up a free copy of “Finding Dorothy” at the Ottawa Library to find out more. Chartier says there are several events planned around the reading of the book.
