If you have ever driven on Old 50 Highway, south of Ottawa, you know that it is extremely narrow. The 16 mile section in Franklin County has become one of the most heavily traveled routes in the county, and if you’ve been on it, you know there’s some serious work that needs to be done. Franklin County realizes that and Public Works Director, David Lee says it won’t be long before work begins on improvements:
Lee adds that Phase One, the four mile stretch from Eisenhower to Iowa, is the most heavily traveled section, seeing 2,000 cars a day. Traffic is a little lighter the further south you go.
