We told you yesterday that the Hays Police Department, last week raided the hospital room of a terminally ill man who is expected to succumb to incurable and inoperable cancer within a few weeks. Sixty nine year-old Greg Bretz was allegedly vaping marijuana and using thc paste to relieve the pain associated with his illness. A hospital worker called police because state law requires medical facilities to report such incidents. He was cited for drug possession.
Good news for all involved. The Hays Police Department said they have resolved the case and after further review, Hays Police Chief,Don Scheibler pulled the summons and all issues involved in the case and he says it is closed.
Only three states still fully ban medical marijuana…Kansas, Nebraska, and Idaho. The issue is expected to come up quickly when the Kansas Legislature reconvenes in January.
