The fentanyl crisis in Franklin County and around the area is creating dangerous issues in every part of the county. Franklin County Sheriff Jeff Richards says that the overdoses caused by the drug are far from “just an overdose”.
In 2021, there were many cases of overdoses linked to fentanyl in Franklin County, and the number of seizures of the drug is up also. Not only is the drug dangerous to users, but also handlers. Richards says his deputies were also involved in administering narcan to Osage County Deputies that were overcome by fentanyl exposure early in 2021.
