The Kansas Department of Transportation has announced bids for state highway construction projects. Two of those are in Osage County and involve a bridge removal. Killough Construction will remove the bridge over Dragoon Creek at Pomona Reservoir, 2.7 miles north of the US 75/K-31 junction and also remove the bridge over Dragoon Creek 3.9 miles north of US 75/K-268 junction. The total for both bridge removals comes in at just under one million dollars.
The other project in our area is in Linn County. Superior Bowen Asphalt will conduct a mill and overlay for about 13 miles from the K-7/K-152 junction to the US 69/ K-152 junction for just over $900,000.
