Not only are the City of Ottawa’s wastewater rates proposed to increase this next year, but so are the water utility rates. Ottawa Finance Director, Melanie Landis went over the proposed rates with City Commissioners:
Utilities Director, Dennis Tharp, has said in earlier meetings that there is more cost going out than income coming in when it comes to the water utility and that has necessitated the increase.
