The issue of whether Prairie Paws Animal Shelter should try to police the adoption of Put Bulls is front and center before the Ottawa City Commission. One person contacted Commissioners to claim the shelter was adopting out Pit Bull, in violation of Ottawa’s Pit Bull ban. During a City Commission Study Session, Prairie Paws Executive Director Vanessa Cowie talked about some recent DNA testing on dogs:
