USD 287, West Franklin, has a new superintendent. The Board of Education has announced that Mathew Brenzikofer will take the reins of the district following the retirement of current Super Jerry Turner. Board President Rusty Ecord says that Mr. Brenzikofer emerged from a very thorough search process as the right candidate to lead the school district. He added that community input, including the involvement of stakeholders was a key factor in the success of the Superintendent search process.
Brenzikofer has broad educational experience, as a teacher and administrator. He has been Principal of West Franklin High and Middle Schools since 2020. He was also the Assistant Principal of the schools from 2012 to 2020. Before coming to West Franklin in 2012, Brenzikofer taught social studies at Clay County USD #379 from 1996 to 2012.
