There seems to be disagreement among the Ottawa City Commission about how…or whether….there should be a new mayor and mayor pro-tem each year. The Commission discussed various ways to handle the situation, given that Mayor Eric Crowley and Mayor pro-tem Mike Skidmore are starting a second year in those offices. One idea discussed was to appoint the top two vote getters as mayor and pro-tem….and mayor Eric Crowley doesn’t like the idea.
The commission asked City Attorney Blaine Finch to draw up a resolution for review, addressing the succession issue.
