It looks like the Ottawa City Commission is set to approve a series of electric rate hikes at its regular meeting tomorrow night, February 1st. During the Commission’s Study Session, Finance Director, Melanie Landis gave some examples of what customers can expect:
The rate hikes are calculated at 6% per year through 2027. Because of concern that the increase may be a disincentive for companies to relocate here, the 6% demand charge increase will not be implemented for large users of electricity.
