A longtime county employee will be working her last day today. Register of Deeds Sue McCay will retire after 40 years of hard work and dedication to Franklin County. The public is invited to a retirement reception for her. The reception will be held at Corner Market in Downtown Ottawa from 2:00 to 5:00 this afternoon.
McCay has spent 40 years working for Franklin County Government, starting as a Real Estate Clerk in the County Appraiser’s Office in October 1982. She later ran for office when her predecessor, Sherlie Capper, retired in 1992.
