The first of three Legislative Coffees was held Saturday, February 4th, at Ottawa City Hall and three new faces were on hand. Senator Rick Kloos, who represents the 19th District, Representative Rebecca Schmoe representing the 59th District, and Carrie Barth in the 5th District. Senator Caryn Tyson was also on hand. A question was asked about tax relief for seniors, specifically on social security. Senator Tyson explained the Senate version of a bill to eliminate tax on social security:
All of the others present were in agreement on the bill and says it has bipartisan support. The next Legislative Coffee will be held on March 4th.
