The issue of wind energy and wind farms came up at the Legislative Coffee Saturday, February 4th. Representative Carri Barth says she is very much against the way that the Nextera Group is going about their business, saying that the company hitting Douglas and Franklin County’s hard and not all the information is entirely accurate:
Others on the panel agreed, says that Kansas needs to have an energy policy that could monitor and regulate the alternative energy companies. Right now, the decision is left to the County Commissioners. A discussion on wind energy in Franklin County is expected at the County Commission Meeting on Wednesday, February 8th.
