The Ottawa Fire Department is one of the best trained fire agencies in the area and always looking to keep their crews trained in the latest fire safety technology. The past year, they have received several grants to upgrade and purchase equipment. Fire Chief Tim Mathias says they the are eagerly awaiting Ottawa’s newest fire engine, which will be arriving soon.
He reminds people that the fire department still offers free smoke detectors for your home. Just call and let them know how many you need and pick them up, or have them come to your home to install them
