The Annual Ottawa City-Wide Spring Clean-Up Weekend is coming soon. It will be the weekend of March 31 and April 1st. Dumpsters are being placed in various locations around town for residents to put their junk in. They are available from 8:00 in the morning March 31st until 3:00 Saturday afternoon, April 1st.. They are located near the Franklin County Recycling Center; the parking lot west of City Hall; and the Salt Storage Shed on North Cherry. Tires will be only accepted at the North Cherry location. Be sure to bring ID. Absolutely no batteries and no liquids are allowed to be put in the dumpsters. Oil based paints can be disposed of at the Franklin County Recycling Center. So, you have plenty of time to get out and clean out the garage, the closet, or the attic and get rid of all that junk your wife has been telling you to get rid of for years.
There is an emphasis on cleaning the community well this year. The city reminds residents that that there is too much trash scattered around town, and residents need to be more mindful about littering. Ottawa City-Wide Clean-Up, March 31 and April 1st, no fooling!
