Last week, the Franklin County Commission voted to deny a Special Use Permit for a meteorological tower that would study the wind in Franklin County, leading to a possible wind farm and turbines being installed near Pomona. After listening to over two hours of testimony form concerned citizens, some for, but mostly against the tower, Commissioner Roy Dunn gave his reason why he was against it:

The “no” vote effectively initiated a moratorium on the development of wind energy in the County; however, County Administrator, Derek Brown says there could be more proposals in the future.
