The Garnett City Commission will meet tomorrow night. February 14th, at 6:00 in the Commission Room at City Hall. The agenda is quite lengthy. The commission will take into consideration the Neighborhood Revitalization Plan. The plan has changed to include more properties in the city. The current one had an eight year tax refund for the central business district and five years for outside the district. The need for affordable housing in Garnett mirrors the need for the same types of projects in our entire region. The hope is to draw developers into the area and then hopefully have homes for the expected increase in workers coming in with new companies either in Anderson County, Proximity Park in Ottawa or the Panasonic plant being built in DeSoto.
