The Anderson County Commission approved it, USD 365 Board approved it. Last night, the only thing standing between the new Neighborhood Revitalization Policies in Anderson County was the Garnett City Commission. They discussed it at length last night. City Attorney Terry Solander said he had some minor issues with it, but nothing that would be a deal breaker. Anderson County Economic Development Director Julie Turnipseed says they did put a renewal deadline on the new policy to address delays or issues that may come up for developers:

Commissioners unanimously approved the changes. Under the new guidelines, commercial properties would have a 10 year tax abatement, residential properties will have seven years. This will include the entire city limits of Garnett.
