Remember that comet last month that whizzed by earth that hadn’t been seen in like 50,000 years? Everyone was clamoring to get a sighting of it. Well, a comet named c-2023-a3 was listening and said, “wait a minute, hold my beer”. The newly discovered bright comet is going to be visible to the naked eye and it will be it’s first visit around these parts in 4 and a half billion years.
Right now it is between Jupiter and Saturn and is faint, only being seen by large telescopes. But, once it comes closer to the sun, it will become much brighter and then in early October of 2024, it will reach its closest point to earth, about 43 million miles. But, as astrologists will tell you, comets are unpredictable, and this can’t be more true for a comet that is being seen for the first time. So, stay tuned
