Severe Weather Awareness Week in Kansas was last week and one thing weather officials across the state emphasize is the importance of having multiple ways to be informed about severe weather that will affect the area. TV, a NOAA weather radio, weather apps and KOFO can help. The city of gCity of Garnett has another way to notify you. It’s called Code Red Emergency Notification. Code Red delivers warning and alerts to you by telephone. You can sign up through the link on the City of Garnett website. It identifies people who have signed up who are in the path of a tornado, severe thunderstorm or flooding. It also issues evacuation notices, missing persons and other emergency information. It’s just one more way to stay informed about any type of severe weather or emergency that is happening in the area, and keep you safe in the storm.
This, and much more information is on the Garnett City website: “simplygarnett.com”.
