As Spring comes on, many people are going to be out in their yards, cleaning up leaves that weren’t raked, tree branches that came down in wind storms, a preparing their yard for mowing season. Now, what to do with all that yard waste. No worries…the City of Garnett has you covered. The city has a burn site located on K-31 highway that is available for city residents to take brush and yard waste for disposal.

The site is open to the public the last Friday of each month from 8:30 in the morning until noon. There is no charge for this service. But wait, you can’t get it to the site yourself? Again, not a problem. The Garnett Yard Waste Pick-Up Program is available for persons unable to transport their brush and yard waste to the burn site. Upon request, pickup can be done by city crews the last Friday of the month. There are some stipulations and charges involved. Call Garnett City Hall for details on the program.
