Saint Patrick’s Day. Wearing the green, parades, green beer and shamrocks. Ever wonder where shamrocks actually come from or what they mean? A nice Leprechaun offered this explanation:

St. Patrick’s Day is celebrated annually on March 17th, the anniversary of his death in the fifth century. The Irish have observed this day as a religious holiday for over 1,000 years.

By the way, Leprechauns? They are only a minor figure in Celtic Folklore. They are known for their trickery, which they often used to protect their treasure. The were initially red, but turned green to associate with Ireland. Spotting one is a sign of good luck.
