As Governor Kelly pushed her “Ax the Tax” program to eliminate the sales tax on groceries, it has come to light that she may mean not only the State tax, but also all county and local taxes as well. That is very concerning to many cities, including Ottawa, that worry if those revenues go away, massive cuts will have to be made and property taxes increase to cover the shortfall.
